Job Title: Assistant Librarian

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Summary

• The University Library invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Librarian.
• The successful candidate will support the effective delivery of library and information services to the University community.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in cataloguing, classification and organization of library resources.
• Support circulation services, including lending, returns and user registration.
• Provide basic reference and research assistance to students and staff.
• Assist users in accessing electronic resources and databases.
• Participate in user education and information literacy programmes.
• Maintain library records and support stock management activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A good Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science (LIS).
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant post-qualification experience.
• Evidence of registration with the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) will be an added advantage.
• Basic ICT proficiency and familiarity with library operations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
