Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Locations: Ajah and Lekki - Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing, procurement, vendor coordination, and supply chain activities for engineering and industrial projects.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical materials, equipment, and services, with proven experience in procurement operations within the oil & gas, engineering, construction, or industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for mechanical, electrical, and industrial materials/equipment.
• Source and evaluate vendors, suppliers, and OEMs to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
• Prepare and process RFQs, bid evaluations, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and project teams to understand technical procurement requirements.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project specifications, and industry standards.
• Track procurement schedules and expedite deliveries to meet project timelines.
• Review technical specifications and verify material compliance before procurement.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Supervise procurement processes and support junior procurement personnel where applicable.
• Prepare procurement reports, vendor assessments, and management updates.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years proven procurement experience in engineering, oil & gas, EPC, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/materials procurement.
• Experience working with OEMs, technical vendors, and international sourcing.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement ERP systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of industrial standards and technical specifications.
• Experience with strategic sourcing and supply chain management.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management understanding.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.

Remuneration
N250,000 - N350,000 monthly
