Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • Our client is seeking an experienced and result-driven Supply Chain Manager to oversee and optimize the company’s supply chain operations within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing procurement, logistics, inventory control, warehousing, vendor relationships, and overall supply chain efficiency while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • The successful candidate must possess strong negotiation, organizational, and cost management skills, with the ability to lead teams and coordinate supply chain activities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and distribution operations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Ensure cost-effective sourcing and procurement practices.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with suppliers and vendors.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry regulations, and supply chain best practices.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Engineering, Logistics, QHSE, Finance, and Operations.
  • Prepare reports, memos, and correspondence related to supply chain activities.
  • Monitor supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Supervise and support officers within the supply chain team.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to support operational efficiency.
  • Utilize MS Office applications and relevant supply chain management systems effectively.

Requirements
Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines.
  • A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

Professional Certifications:
Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD)
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • Certification through the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) is required.

Experience:

  • 8–15 years of relevant work experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong experience in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, inventory, warehousing, and vendor management.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of supply chain management procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and cost management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High level of organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to compose professional correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively and manage team deliverables.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must be resident in Port Harcourt.
  • Ability to resume within two weeks to one month is preferred.

Salary
N1,000,000 - N1,500,000 per month.
