Job Title: Medical Officer

​​​​​​Role Description

  • This is a full-time, on-site Medical Officer with Surgical skills role based in Abuja.
  • The Medical Officer will provide comprehensive medical and surgical care, including assessing patients, making diagnoses, planning treatment, and performing minor and selected major surgical procedures within scope and competency.
  • The role involves managing pre-operative and post-operative care, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
  • The Medical Officer will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff, participate in ward rounds, and contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution and full registration with relevant medical regulatory bodies
  • Experience Working with Physicians and other healthcare professionals in a team-based, collaborative clinical environment..
  • Strong clinical foundation in Medicine, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality Patient Care, including empathetic communication, patient education, and ethical clinical practice.
  • Proven skills in Surgery, including performing appropriate procedures, managing surgical emergencies, and providing perioperative care.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in Training of junior doctors, interns, and clinical staff, including bedside teaching and case reviews.
  • Postgraduate training or certifications in surgery or related specialties are an advantage.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications, or willingness to obtain within a defined period.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a high-volume clinical setting.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duties as required, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
