Job Title: Store Officer

Job Summary
- The store officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring efficient inventory management, proper storage of materials, stock accuracy, and timely issuance of goods.
- The role involves supervising store personnel, maintaining inventory records, enforcing stock control procedures, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and safety standards.
- The store officer manager plays a critical role in supporting operational efficiency by ensuring the availability and proper management of stock and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations Management:
- Manage the daily operations of the store.
- Ensure proper receipt, storage, handling, and issuance of materials and supplies.
- Maintain organized and secure storage facilities.
- Implement and enforce store management policies and procedures.
- Ensure the store environment is clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock quantities.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained at all times.
- Monitor stock movement and identify slow-moving, obsolete, or expired items.
Stock Receiving and Issuance:
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Ensure all received items meet quality and quantity specifications.
- Coordinate the issuance of materials to departments.
- Maintain proper documentation for all stock transactions.
Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operational departments.
- Provide inventory reports and stock status updates to management.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding deliveries and stock-related issues.
- Support procurement planning by providing inventory forecasts and stock requirements.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and inventory control procedures.
- Safeguard company assets and inventory from theft, damage, or misuse.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Implement measures to reduce stock losses and operational risks.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare periodic inventory and stock movement reports.
- Generate reports on stock levels, shortages, and inventory valuation.
- Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.
- Support internal and external audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Warehouse Management, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–7 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
