Job Title: Science Teacher (Secondary) 

Location: Ejigbolo, Port Harcourt - Rivers 
Employment Type: Full-time

Objective of the Role

• To help students acquire scientific knowledge, practical laboratory skills, and critical thinking abilities that prepare them for further education and everyday life.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver science lessons in subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science.
• Prepare lesson notes, teaching materials, and practical activities.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations safely.
• Assess and evaluate students through tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Maintain accurate records of students' attendance and academic performance.
• Encourage students to develop scientific inquiry, observation, and problem-solving skills.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
• Ensure laboratory equipment and materials are properly used and maintained.
• Provide guidance and support to students experiencing learning difficulties.
• Participate in school meetings, extracurricular activities, and professional development programs.

Qualifications and Skills

• A Degree in Science Education or a science-related field.
• Teaching certification or license (where required).
• Strong knowledge of scientific principles and laboratory procedures.
• Good communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students.
• Organizational and record-keeping skills.

Work Environment:

• Schools (primary, secondary, or higher institutions).
• Science laboratories and classrooms.
• Occasionally involved in field trips and science-related activities.
