We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Painter
Location: Mbarakom, Akamkpa Local Government Area - Cross River
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
- To carry out painting and surface protection works on buildings, equipment, pipelines, tanks, and other structures within the palm oil mill and residential areas, ensuring that assets are properly maintained, protected against corrosion, and presented in a clean and professional condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, wire brushing, and cleaning.
- Apply primer, undercoat, and finish coats using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Paint buildings, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and steel structures.
- Apply protective coatings to tanks, pipelines, handrails, and machinery.
- Carry out line marking and safety color coding in accordance with company standards.
- Mix paints, thinners, and coatings to specified ratios.
- Repair minor plaster defects and surface imperfections before painting.
- Erect and use ladders, scaffolds, and access equipment safely.
- Store paints, solvents, and tools properly.
- Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
- Report damaged surfaces, corrosion, and material shortages.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Daily Tasks
- Inspect assigned work areas.
- Prepare tools, paints, and materials.
- Clean and prepare surfaces.
- Carry out painting and touch-up work.
- Clean equipment after use.
- Return unused materials to the store.
- Report completed work and defects observed.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Trade Test Certificate in Painting and Decoration is an added advantage.
- 1–3 years of experience in industrial or building painting.
- Experience in a manufacturing or palm oil mill environment is an advantage.
