We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Manager

Job Summary

  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of minerals, equipment, spare parts, diesel, operational materials, and services required to support business operations.
  • The role ensures supplier performance, contract compliance, cost optimization, and adherence to company procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
  • The Procurement Manager also leads procurement process improvements and supports strategic sourcing initiatives that contribute to operational efficiency and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives and operational requirements.
  • Oversee the sourcing and procurement of minerals, equipment, spare parts, diesel, operational materials, and services.
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and value for money.
  • Negotiate contracts and supplier agreements in line with company policies and approved budgets.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Coordinate inventory planning and procurement activities to optimize stock levels and reduce shortages.
  • Monitor procurement expenditure and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and record-keeping of procurement activities and supplier contracts.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply disruptions and market fluctuations.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Legal, and other departments to ensure effective procurement planning and execution.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to procurement personnel to ensure departmental objectives are achieved.

Performance Metrics

  • Cost savings achieved through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
  • Timely procurement and delivery of operational requirements.
  • Supplier performance and contract compliance.
  • Accuracy and completeness of procurement records and reports.
  • Inventory availability and reduction of stock shortages.
  • Compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master's Degree or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Must have 5–7 years' experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related function.
  • Proven experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
  • Experience implementing cost-saving initiatives and procurement process improvements.
  • Experience within the mining, manufacturing, processing, or related industries will be an added advantage.
