We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: State Manager

Location: Kano

Job Summary

  • OPay is seeking a highly experienced and performance-driven State Manager to lead and scale field sales operations across assigned states.
  • This role is responsible for managing 500+ field sales staff, driving merchant onboarding, account opening and activation, and accelerating SME adoption of OPay’s products in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a large field sales workforce of 500+ staff across assigned states.
  • Drive merchant onboarding, account opening, and activation targets.
  • Execute SME sales strategies to grow adoption and transaction volumes.
  • Oversee daily field sales operations, territory coverage, and productivity.
  • Develop and implement state-level sales strategies aligned with OPay’s growth objectives.
  • Monitor KPIs, analyze sales performance, and prepare regular reports.
  • Train, coach, and develop team leads and field sales representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OPay policies, regulatory standards, and risk controls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants, SMEs, and key stakeholders.
  • Track market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of sales experience, with fintech, financial services, or telecoms experience required.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale field sales teams (300–500+ staff).
  • Strong background in merchant acquisition, SME sales, and field operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-driven and results-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel and manage teams across multiple locations.
