Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Town Planner

Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Town Planner with strong expertise in Quantity Surveying (QS) and Project Management to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing land development and construction projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, budgetary controls, and project timelines.
- The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, cost estimation, feasibility analysis, stakeholder engagement, and the overall management of development projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Town Planning & Development:
- Prepare and review development plans, layouts, site plans, and land-use proposals.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for proposed developments.
- Liaise with government agencies and regulatory authorities to secure necessary planning approvals and permits.
- Ensure compliance with urban planning regulations, zoning laws, environmental standards, and building codes.
- Advise management on land acquisition, development opportunities, and planning regulations.
Quantity Surveying (QS):
- Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and project budgets.
- Conduct cost planning and cost control throughout project lifecycles.
- Evaluate contractor quotations and tender submissions.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Prepare valuation reports and assess variations, claims, and final accounts.
Project Management:
- Develop project schedules, work plans, and implementation strategies.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare regular project status reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements on project sites.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, government agencies, consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders.
- Represent the organization during project meetings, inspections, and regulatory engagements.
- Facilitate communication among all parties involved in project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Urban and Regional Planning, Town Planning, Quantity Surveying, Estate Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in town planning, quantity surveying, and project management.
- Professional membership with relevant bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC), Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of planning regulations, land administration processes, and development control procedures.
- Proven experience managing real estate, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MS Project, and other relevant project management software.
- Excellent analytical, budgeting, and cost management skills.
