Role Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with 4–6 years of professional experience in the mining industry to join our operations in Kaduna.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing mechanical systems and equipment used in mining operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Design: Develop and improve mechanical systems for mining operations, including conveyors, crushers, and ventilation systems.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of mining machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all mechanical systems adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Project Management: Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept to execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze system performance and implement improvements to enhance productivity.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise to operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in the mining industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mining machinery, mechanical systems, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and mechanical analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency practices in mining operations.
