Job Title: Security Personnel

Location: Gwarinpa, Abuja (FCT) 

Job Brief

• ​DTA is seeking a vigilant, reliable, and highly professional Security Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be the first line of defense in safeguarding our premises, assets, employees, and visitors.
• The ideal candidate maintains a strong command presence, possesses excellent situational awareness, and balances strict security enforcement with exceptional customer service.

​Key Responsibilities

• ​Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct regular foot or vehicular patrols of the interior and perimeter of DTA premises to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, or theft.
• ​Access Control: Monitor entrance and departure points. Verify identities, issue visitor badges, inspect logs, and ensure only authorized personnel enter the facility.
• ​System Monitoring: Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarm panels, and fire/safety gates.
• ​Emergency Response: Act as a first responder during crises, fires, medical emergencies, or security breaches. Coordinate effectively with local law enforcement and emergency services.
• ​Incident Reporting: Investigate disruptions and compile detailed, accurate written incident reports for management.
• ​Public Relations: Greet visitors and staff professionally, providing directions or assistance while maintaining a secure environment.

​Job Requirements & Qualifications

• ​Education: High School Diploma or equivalent minimum.
• ​Experience: Proven experience as a Security Officer or within a related field (Law Enforcement or Military background is a major plus).
• ​Licensing: Must possess a valid, active Security Guard License/Guard Card as required by local regulations.

​Skills:

• ​Strong observation, critical thinking, and rapid problem-solving abilities.
• ​Excellent verbal and written communication skills (for writing clear logs and de-escalating situations).
• ​Proficiency with basic security tech (smartphones, radio etiquette, CCTV systems).
• ​Physical Demands: Ability to stand or walk for long periods (up to 4 hours consecutively) and lift up to 25 lbs if necessary.
• ​Traits: High integrity, emotional stability, and the ability to remain completely calm under pressure.
