Job Title: Physics Educator

Position Summary

  • The Physics Educator is responsible for inspiring and equipping students with a deep understanding of physical science concepts through inquiry-based, hands-on, and real-world learning experiences.
  • The ideal candidate demonstrates strong classroom leadership, mastery of subject content, and a commitment to developing innovative, critical, and leadership-oriented learners who embody the Domfas core values of excellence, responsibility, and global readiness.

Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Physics aligned with the Domfas curriculum, Cambridge framework, and national standards.
  • Integrate 21st-century teaching strategies, experiments, simulations, and STEM-based learning.
  • Use project-based learning, demonstrations, and technology to make abstract concepts concrete and relevant.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Assessment & Evaluation:

  • Design, administer, and grade assessments (quizzes, tests, practicals, projects) that reflect learning objectives.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Participate in academic reviews, performance monitoring, and student progress meetings.

Student Engagement & Mentorship:

  • Inspire curiosity, innovation, and independent thinking among students.
  • Serve as a mentor and model of scientific integrity, discipline, and leadership.
  • Guide students in science fairs, robotics, coding, and research-based projects.

Collaboration & Professionalism:

  • Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development, interdisciplinary projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training workshops, and professional learning communities.
  • Support the academy’s co-curricular and leadership development programs.

Classroom & Laboratory Management:

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and resourceful classroom and laboratory environment.
  • Ensure adherence to laboratory safety standards and equipment care protocols.
  • Encourage students to take responsibility for shared learning spaces and materials.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Student academic growth and performance in Physics.
  • Engagement and participation in STEM projects and fairs.
  • Quality of lesson delivery, planning, and classroom management.
  • Collaboration and contribution to departmental goals.
  • Professional development participation and growth mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Physics at middle or high school level.
  • Strong command of Physics curriculum and practical laboratory methods.
  • Excellent communication, creativity, and classroom management skills.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge/IGCSE or other international school standards is an advantage.
  • Competence in digital teaching tools, STEM integration, and learner-centered methodologies.
