Role Overview
- We are seeking a highly capable and results-driven Operations Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the company.
- This is a senior leadership role that requires a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise, the ability to manage diverse teams, and a proven track record of driving efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all departments, ensuring alignment with company goals and targets
- Develop, implement, and continuously review operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and workflows
- Oversee production planning, quality control, inventory management, supply chain, and logistics operations
- Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff to build a high-performing, accountable team
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare detailed management reports for the Board
- Ensure the company meets all regulatory and compliance requirements, including NAFDAC, SON, and workplace health and safety standards
- Drive cost optimisation initiatives without compromising quality or employee welfare
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, clients, and relevant government agencies on behalf of the company
- Lead the resolution of operational challenges and escalate business risks to management promptly
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability across the organisation
- Manage budgets, approve procurement requests, and ensure responsible financial stewardship at the operational level
- Coordinate production schedules to meet customer orders and delivery timelines
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in operations, production management, or a similar leadership role
- Prior experience in the FMCG, food manufacturing, or consumer goods industry is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing teams of 10 or more people
- Sound knowledge of NAFDAC regulations and food safety compliance standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with ERP or inventory management software is a plus
