Job Title: Central Tool Store Technician

Location: Mfamosing, Cross River
Employment Type: Full-time

About the role

  • The central tool store technician is responsible for managing tools, equipment and consumables in the plant to ensure availability, accountability, proper storage and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Issue tools and equipment to technicians, operators, and maintenance personnel
  • Receive returned tools and verify their condition
  • Maintain proper records of issued and returned items
  • Monitor stock levels of tools, spare parts, and consumables
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and stock verification
  • Update inventory records in manual logs or computerized systems
  • Inspect tools for damage, wear, or malfunction
  • Arrange repair, calibration, or replacement of defective tools
  • Ensure tools are safe and fit for use
  • Maintain organized storage areas for easy identification and retrieval
  • Ensure proper labelling and preservation of tools and materials
  • Keep the tool store clean, safe, and compliant with workplace standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation of stock movement and transactions
  • Prepare reports on tool usage, shortages, and damaged items
  • Track tool history and accountability records
  • Assist in receiving, checking, and verifying delivered materials
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety regulations
  • Enforce proper handling and storage practices
  • Support audits and inspections related to inventory and tool management
  • Identify tools and materials using codes, tags, or specifications
  • Prevent loss, misuse, or unauthorized removal of tools
  • Ensure critical tools are available for planned and breakdown maintenance activities
  • Assist maintenance teams with special tool requirements during shutdowns or major repairs
  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of the tools in CTS
  • Suggest improvements in tool tracking, storage systems, and inventory control processes.

Education

  • Other Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or Technician Part 3.

Experience:

  • 4-5 years' post-qualification experience. Cement Plant Maintenance and Production Experience.

Required skills:

  • Cement process knowledge
  • Good knowledge of equipment (Operation and Maintenance)
  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
