Job Summary
- The Pharmacy Technician supports the Pharmacist in dispensing medications, managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient pharmacy operations.
- The role requires attention to detail, compliance with regulatory standards, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing prescribed medications accurately.
- Receive, process, and prepare prescriptions for dispensing.
- Label medications and provide appropriate packaging under supervision.
- Maintain accurate patient medication records and pharmacy documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability.
- Receive, store, and organize pharmaceutical products according to standards.
- Check expiry dates and remove expired or damaged products from inventory.
- Assist in stock-taking and inventory reconciliation.
- Process sales transactions and maintain accurate financial records where applicable.
- Respond to customer inquiries and refer clinical questions to the Pharmacist.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy environment.
- Support procurement and ordering of medications and pharmacy supplies.
- Assist in preparing reports and other administrative duties as required.
Requirement & Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Studies from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 1-2 yearsprevious experience in a hospital or pharmacy is an advantage.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician license/certification where applicable.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and pharmacy operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy management software is an added advantage.
