Job Title: Utilities Engineer
Location: Sagamu, Ogun

About the role
- Responsible for the safety and environment in the utilities workshops
- Responsible for supervising the implementation of the all mechanical maintenance in the utilities workshops (air, water in and out networks, sewages, all fuels stations, building maintenance, water ponds etc.)
- Recording, Reporting and send information on time to his manager - supervise the third party services in his area closely.
Responsibilities
- Champion KPI’s, Safety initiatives, and safety regulatory needs in respective areas CPP and Utilities.
- Promote health and safety by driving accountability systems to have zero LTI and No Fatality.
- Drive housekeeping awareness and identify opportunities throughout the CPP and utility department sections.
- Coordinate, follow-up and ensure effectiveness of corrective and preventive jobs as well as any other measure aiming to correct or improve equipment efficiency and increase the availability.
- Schedule and manage labour for effective and safe performance and cost saving.
- Understand and enforce proper operating targets for all mechanical utilities equipment and follow up the operation and maintenance day to day activities at CPP with full reporting system.
- Create a plan and carry out necessary maintenance for all water, air, fuel, hydrant, gas pipe line networks, pump stations and plant buildings.
- Participate in the failure Analysis to determine root cause of major equipment downtime.
- Review utility operational control data daily and address out-of-parameter issues.
- Close work orders on time.
- Follow up with N+1 all related activities through a daily, weekly, and monthly reporting system.
- Execute equipment PM’s, inspections, audits, etc. to minimize costs and maximize availability.
- Find and order required spare parts for Utilities mechanical spares, follow up the stock in store for reordering systems.
- Understand costs associated with mechanical maintenance for utilities and order for optimum spares.
- Order and follow up on delivery of having proper tools to support their areas.
- Work with Lafarge work order system planning weekly planned maintenance for the department achieving KPI’s.
- Provide support for leadership and company initiatives.
- Carry out any other jobs as assigned by management related to Utilities and CPP or any other area.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- Has very good experience in Air compressors, Air dryers, Ventilation systems, valves, pumps, boilers, electrical machines, cooling towers, sewage systems, HV/AC systems.
- Should also have 2-4 years of practical experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
Required skills:
- Very conversant with cement plant equipment
- Strong computer skills especially AutoCAD, Solidwork, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email applications
- Has good experience in mechanical jobs trouble shooting and maintenance
- Good experience in Pumps, compressors, blowers and water treatment programs.
