Job Title: Plumber

About the role

• Responsible for planning, laying out, and carrying out plumbing work on job sites and in the shop.
• Ensures prompt completion of high-quality projects while complying with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Plans and lays out work from oral and written instructions.
• Assigns and carries out and supervises the work of plumbing personnel engaged in installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Carries out, supervises, and inspects the installation and repair of plumbing pipes, sinks, traps, valves, faucets, vents, pumps, and similar equipment, fixtures, and apparatus.
• Responsible for scheduling inspections of plumbing tools and ensures they are in optimal condition.
• Estimates job labor and materials costs; maintains job records.
• Responds to emergency plumbing repair needs.
• Conducts regular inspections of work in progress and on completion; participates in complex tasks.
• Confers with superiors on proposed plumbing projects and makes recommendations.
• Trains skilled and trades helper personnel.
• Establishes safety and work performance standards for subordinates.
• Ensures safe storage and disposal of replaced plumbing spares.
• Respect the safety policies, rules, regulations, and standard Work Instruction of the company.
• Uphold and maintain Environmental Management System & Quality Management System ISO 9001:2000.
• Comply with EMS Production Instrumentation job functions.
• Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant.

Requirements
Experience:

• Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school and 5 years of related experience and considerable experience as a plumber, including some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Education:

• Other Degree / Trade Test I, II, III or equivalent.

Required skills:

• Raw meal preparation, burning, combustion, and grinding
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment
• Thorough knowledge of the prevailing codes of the plumbing trades
• Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work.
