Job Title: Crusher Central Control Room Operator
Location: Ewekoro, Ogun

About the role
- The Central Control Room Operator’s objective is to organize and coordinate production shift team to produce good quality product taking cognizance of safety, efficiency, effectiveness, quality and cost per tonne.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment according to Lafarge Best Practice
- Control major process lines within cement manufacturing operation including equipment commissioning, startups, shutdowns, and emergency condition management as per established SOP’s
- Monitor continuously all plant process lines using available tools
- Contribute to maintaining equipment in good working condition by complying with instructions of use
- Ensure protection of environment in compliance with group standards
- Coordinate with production fieldsmen for smooth operation of the plant
- Maintain quality within range as defined in QMS
- Monitor production results such as energy consumption, etc.
- Follow operational procedures (SOPs) during all tasks in the plant
- Operate equipment within Lafarge and local environmental protection standards
- Direct activities of patrollers, process assistants, and mobile plant operation
- Handle breakdown and problem solving activity including troubleshooting and determination of related overtime staffing needs
- Follow continuous quality monitoring and make necessary adjustments to systems
- Serve as liaison with Automation Engineer regarding major equipment issues
- Serves as Plant Emergency Response Coordinator in event of severe incidents
- Champion the development/review of standard operating procedures for Production department
- Conducts/leads safety meetings with shift personnel
- Monitor all radio communications for plant problems
- Complete paperwork and record keeping as required including production logs, work orders, mill data reports
- Assist in operational and safety training for existing employees and induction of new hires
- Complete performance reviews of hourly employees in production department
- Comply with EMS Production Instrumentation activities
- Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in plant.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Chemical Engineering.
Experience
- 5-8 years cement industry experience with 2-3 years’ experience in a process industry or OND in an engineering discipline (with mechanical, chemical, electrical, chemistry or physics as main subject).
