Job Title: Machinist
Location: Ashaka, Gombe
Employment Type: Full-time (Onsite)
About the Role
- Responsible for assigning of task and manpower resources in the workshop, ensuring that all fabrication and welding jobs are carried out to the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.
- Also involves pre-planned maintenance, safety enforcement, and record keeping.
Responsibilities
- Execute pre-planned, predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance of plants and equipment
- To keep effective documentation assigned jobs
- Maintain good and safe housekeeping during and after work or job execution
- Fabrication of any required components with good supervision
- Enforce safety regulations according to company standard, reports near misses in his area
- Transfer understandable work instructions from N+1 to subordinates
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by N+1 OR HOD
- Keeping record for any activities under his responsibilities and reported daily /weekly
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
- Diagnosing faults
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should Degree in Mechanical Engineering, NABTEB and City and Guilds.
Experience:
- 3 years’ hands-on experience in the industry
Required skills:
- Excellent understanding and interpretation of technical/engineering drawingsGood verbal and written communication skillAble to develop shapes from drawingGood welding and metal joining practice
