We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Inventory Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, real-time records of all stock levels across all product categories in the store.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconcile physical inventory against system records; report and investigate all variances immediately.
• Receive and verify all incoming stock deliveries against purchase orders and supplier invoices quantity, quality, and condition must be confirmed before acceptance.
• Promptly identify and flag damaged, expired, near-expiry, or short-supplied goods to the Supervisor and Procurement Officer.
• Ensure proper storage, arrangement, and rotation of all stock in line with FIFO (First In, First Out) principles at all times.
• Monitor and track fast-moving, slow-moving, and dead stock; generate regular reports and make data-driven restocking recommendations.
• Raise timely internal stock requests and low-stock alerts to prevent stockouts, especially for high-demand items in a 24-hour trading environment.
• Maintain organised, accurate bin cards, stock registers, and inventory logsboth physical and digital.
• Coordinate with the Procurement Officer on reorder levels, stock movements, and supplier delivery schedules.
• Support periodic audits and stock-takes; ensure full cooperation with all internal and external audit processes.
• Enforce strict access controls to the stockroom and storage areas; maintain a clean, safe, and organised stock environment.
• Ensure proper documentation of all stock transfers, returns, and write-offs with appropriate authorisation.
• Generate and submit accurate daily and weekly inventory reports to the Supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification: OND / HND / B.Sc. in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Must reside in Lekki, Ajah, or immediate environs. This is a strict and non-negotiable requirement.
• 1–2 years' experience in an inventory, warehouse, or stock management role, preferably in a retail or FMCG environment.
• Strong numerical accuracy and meticulous attention to detail; errors in stock records are not acceptable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with inventory or retail management software is required.
• Solid understanding of inventory management principles including FIFO, reorder levels, and stock valuation.
• High personal integrity; trustworthiness in handling and reporting stock is critical.
• Physically capable of stock handling, counting, and extended periods on the shop floor or in the stockroom.
• Comfortable working rotating shifts includingweekends, and public holidays in a 24-hour operation.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple stock categories simultaneously.
• Good written and spoken English; able to produce clear, accurate reports.
