We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors for all store product categories, ensuring consistent quality, competitive pricing, and supply reliability.
  • Raise and process purchase orders in a timely manner, ensuring all procurement activity is fully documented and properly authorised.
  • Negotiate favourable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve the best value for the organisation without compromising quality.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance,track delivery timelines, quality compliance, and fulfilment rates; escalate underperformance promptly.
  • Maintain an updated and accurate vendor database including contacts, pricing agreements, lead times, and performance history.
  • Coordinate closely with the Inventory Officer to align procurement decisions with real-time stock levels, reorder points, and demand patterns.
  • Ensure all incoming goods are matched against purchase orders before acceptance; resolve discrepancies directly with suppliers.
  • Track and manage procurement spend against budget; flag any cost overruns or pricing anomalies to management.
  • Ensure all procurement processes comply with company policy, financial controls, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready procurement documentation including LPOs, invoices, delivery notes, and supplier contracts.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, supply chain improvements, and alternative sourcing without disrupting store operations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly procurement activity and spend reports to the Supervisor and GMD.
  • Support business continuity by ensuring critical stock linesparticularly for a 24-hour operationare never out of supply.

Requirements

  • HND / B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Must reside in Lekki, Ajah, or immediate environs. This is a strict and non-negotiable requirement.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain role; retail or FMCG experience is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills; ability to evaluate quotes, compare costs, and interpret procurement data.
  • High level of integrity and transparency in all purchasing decisions; zero tolerance for undisclosed supplier relationships or kickbacks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with procurement or ERP software is an added advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple procurement cycles simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of the Nigerian supply chain landscape, FMCG market, and local vendor ecosystem.
  • Strong written and spoken English; able to draft formal correspondence, LPOs, and reports with accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, 24-hour retail environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
