We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Security Officer

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a vigilant, disciplined, and responsible Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of the mall, its tenants, visitors, employees, and assets.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities within the premises, enforcing security procedures, preventing unauthorized access, responding to incidents, and maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times.
  • This role requires alertness, integrity, professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and security concerns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned areas of the mall to ensure safety and security
  • Monitor and control access to the premises by:
    • Visitors
    • Contractors
    • Vendors
    • Staff
  • Conduct routine security inspections and surveillance of the facility
  • Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activities promptly
  • Prevent:
    • Theft
    • Vandalism
    • Trespassing
  • Other security breaches
  • Respond promptly to:
    • Emergencies
    • Security incidents
    • Safety concerns
    • Customer disturbances
  • Prepare and submit incident and occurrence reports as required
  • Enforce company security policies and procedures
  • Assist in crowd control during events and peak business periods
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
  • Ensure proper documentation of:
    • Visitors’ records
    • Incident logs
    • Security reports
  • Conduct opening and closing security checks of designated areas
  • Report security risks, hazards, and operational concerns to management promptly
  • Support management with:
    • Security risk assessments
    • Loss prevention initiatives
    • Emergency preparedness activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of SSCE, OND, or equivalent qualification
  • 2–5 years’ experience in security operations, law enforcement, military service, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Security procedures and protocols
    • Access control systems
    • Incident reporting
    • Emergency response procedures
  • Ability to observe and identify potential security threats
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Physically fit and capable of standing or patrolling for extended periods
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and night duties when required
  • Good report-writing skills
  • High level of integrity, discipline, confidentiality, and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security training certification or relevant professional security qualification
  • Experience working in shopping malls, commercial facilities, estates, or similar environments
  • Basic knowledge of CCTV operations, fire safety procedures, and first aid will be an added advantage.

Salary
N150,000 - N250,000 per month.
