We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Payroll Officer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Industry: HR Consulting

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Officer to join our team in the HR Consulting industry.
  • The ideal candidate will have solid experience managing payroll processes, ensuring statutory compliance, and handling employee compensation records accurately and confidentially.
  • Candidates must have prior experience in payroll administration or a closely related role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and within scheduled timelines
  • Maintain and update payroll records, employee data, and salary structures
  • Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with statutory deductions including PAYE, pension, NHF, and other regulatory requirements
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for management review
  • Liaise with finance and HR teams on payroll-related matters
  • Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and employee records
  • Support audits by providing required payroll documentation and reports
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of payroll records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 3 - 5 years proven experience as a Payroll Officer or in a related payroll/accounting role
  • Previous experience within an HR consulting firm, outsourcing company, or similar environment is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Good understanding of Nigerian labor laws, taxation, and statutory remittances
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Salary
Competitive (N300,000 monthly) and based on experience.
