Shekel Mobility is a venture-backed automotive fintech and marketplace infrastructure company building the operating system for auto dealerships across Africa. The African automotive trade market is large, fragmented, and underserved. Small and mid-sized dealers often struggle with access to trusted vehicle supply, structured financing, cross-border payments, logistics, inventory management, and tools to sell faster. These gaps limit growth, increase risk, and keep many dealers operating informally.
Shekel was built to solve this problem. Through its technology, financing infrastructure, and supplier network, Shekel helps dealers find, finance, fulfill, and sell vehicles smarter. Job Title: Head of Marketing and Communications

Responsibilities
Brand & Market Positioning:
- Define and execute Shekel’s brand strategy, visual identity, and market positioning across all channels and customer segments.
- Drive brand awareness campaigns and lead market research to sharpen Shekel’s competitive positioning in Africa’s vehicle finance market.
Product Marketing & GTM:
- Own go-to-market strategy for Shekel’s financing products — developing audience-specific value propositions for dealers, fleet operators, and individual buyers.
- Build product messaging frameworks, competitive battlecards, and sales narratives that enable the Growth team to close effectively.
Lead Generation & Sales Enablement:
- Design and execute multi-channel demand generation campaigns, digital, events, partnerships, and referrals that convert awareness into qualified pipeline.
- Own the MQL-to-SQL handover process with the Growth team; track and optimise lead volume, conversion rates, and cost per acquisition.
Performance Marketing & Analytics:
- Own paid search, paid social, SEO, and email channels with a focus on measurable ROI; build attribution frameworks that connect marketing spend to revenue.
- Establish a marketing analytics cadence and report performance against commercial targets to the executive team.
PR, Content & Communications:
- Build and manage media relationships across Nigeria and key markets; secure earned coverage in business, tech, and finance press; manage crisis communications.
- Lead content strategy and production — thought leadership, social media, case studies, and investor-facing materials — ensuring all output reflects Shekel’s SHARP values.
Investor & Stakeholder Communications:
- Partner with the Co-Founders on fundraising narratives, pitch materials, investor newsletters, and milestone announcements.
- Manage communications for board members, strategic partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
Team & Budget:
- Build and lead a high-performing Marketing & Communications team; manage external agencies and the marketing budget with a focus on ROI and attribution.
What we are looking for
- 8+ years in marketing with exposure to both growth/product marketing and brand/communications
- Proven GTM execution with measurable commercial outcomes
- Experience owning lead generation with clear pipeline metrics (MQLs, SQLs, CAC)
- Familiarity with performance marketing channels — paid search, paid social, SEO, email
- Track record in brand building and PR in Nigeria or comparable African markets
- Demonstrated experience leading and growing a team
- Fintech, mobility, or financial services background (a strong plus).
