About the Dignity Pad Initiative (DPI) The Dignity Pad Initiative (DPI) for the Promotion of Menstrual Hygiene is a strategic, impact-driven non-governmental organization dedicated to eradicating period poverty and advancing educational equity for underserved women and girls across Nigeria. Our Focus & Interventions Operating at the intersection of Public Health, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) systems, and gender equality, we design and scale evidence-based interventions. Our core operations include: Deploying sustainable menstrual hygiene products to vulnerable communities. Implementing localized WASH frameworks and targeted community health education programs. Conducting rigorous, field-level data collection to drive policy advocacy, shape health economics, and eliminate barriers to school attendance.

Job Summary

• The Dignity Pad Initiative (DPI) is seeking a highly connected, visionary leader to join our Board of Directors as the Strategic Partnerships & Resource Mobilization. As DPI undergoes rapid institutional scaling across Nigeria, this Board Member will be the chief architect of our partnership ecosystem—bridging the gap between our high-impact grassroots interventions and major funding networks both locally and globally.
• This role is designed for a heavyweight strategist who understands the Nigerian corporate, philanthropic, and governmental landscapes, and can open doors to high-value CSR collaborations, state and federal alliances, and institutional donors.
• This is a ground-floor opportunity to champion a fast-growing NGO aligned with UN SDGs 3, 4, 10, and 13, driving the strategic alliances needed to eradicate period poverty and educational inequity in Nigeria.

Responsibilities

• National & Corporate Alliances: Spearhead initiatives to secure corporate sponsorships and long-term Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships with leading Nigerian enterprises (e.g., financial institutions, telecommunications, FMCGs, and energy sectors).
• Government & Institutional Relations: Cultivate strategic relationships with relevant government bodies at both state and federal levels (e.g., Ministries of Health, Education, and Women Affairs) to embed DPI’s interventions into broader public policy and state-sponsored programs.
• High-Net-Worth & Philanthropic Mobilization: Leverage existing high-level networks to broker introductions with prominent Nigerian philanthropic foundations and High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs) passionate about social impact.
• Global Funding Architecture: Support the organization’s overarching strategy for securing international grants and alliances with international development agencies operating within Nigeria (e.g., USAID, UN agencies, Global Fund).
• Advocacy & Visibility: Position DPI on high-impact national and regional platforms, ensuring the organization is represented in critical coalitions regarding menstrual hygiene, public health, and gender equity.

Education & Qualifications

• Minimum Academic Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, International Relations, Public Health, Development Studies, Communications, or a related field.
• Advanced Degrees: A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, MPH, Public Administration) is strongly preferred.
• Certifications: Professional certifications in Non-Profit Management, Public Relations, or Project Management are an added advantage.

Experience

• 7–10 years of senior-level experience in corporate communications, business development, government relations, resource mobilization, or high-level corporate CSR within Nigeria.
• Demonstrated experience navigating the Nigerian corporate and philanthropic landscape to successfully close funding or partnership deals.
• Prior experience serving on a corporate or NGO Board of Directors, or acting as a senior advisor to an executive team, is highly desirable.

Required Skills:

• Resource Mobilization: A proven, quantifiable track record of securing significant funding, corporate sponsorships, or brokering high-value partnerships within the Nigerian public, private, or non-profit sectors.
• Stakeholder Mapping & Cultivation: Exceptional ability to map out local and regional donor landscapes, identify key decision-makers, and build sustainable, trust-based relationships.
• Strategic Communication & Pitching: Master-level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate community-level impact into compelling, boardroom-ready narratives.
• Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep understanding of Nigerian corporate CSR dynamics, government partnership frameworks, and the compliance expectations of major institutional grant-makers.

• Time Commitment: Ability to dedicate approximately 5–8 hours per month for virtual board meetings, high-level networking introductions, and strategic advisory sessions.
• Location: Open to candidates nationwide.

Remuneration

• Type: Voluntary / Pro-Bono (Unpaid initially).
• The Roadmap: This foundational leadership role is strictly voluntary at the onset. However, as your strategic mobilization efforts help DPI secure major corporate sponsorships, government grants, and multi-year funding pipelines, our operational roadmap includes transitioning this into a funded board position or a compensated executive consultancy, in strict alignment with funding guidelines.
