Apple & Pears Limited was incorporated in the year 2012 as an Agro Allied & Food Industry to produce soya meal, concentrate and finished feed for the poultry industry, and refined edible oil, mayonnaise, ketchup, salad cream, vinegar,custard powder and Chocolate Drink for the Nigerian market.

The company has invested millions of dollars in land, building, construction of infrastructural facilities and machinery, with one goal in mind and that is to have an integrated facility encompassing the complete value chain of the soya bean business, from sourcing, processing, extraction, refining, packaging and distribution of a wide range of premium products. In response to environmental concerns, we have installed solar panels to partially power the plant on solar energy also we have a state of the art effluent treatment plant to treat and reuse the water discharged during the various production processes. We have created strong brands such as Laziz Oil, Winner Soya Oil, Active Oil, La Mayo Mayonnaise, Laziz Ketchup, Laziz Salad Cream, Laziz Thousand Island, Laziz Vinegar, Laziz Custard, Laziz Chocolate Drink, A1 Soya Bean Meal, A1 Soya Lecithin, HI Pro Concentrate and HI Pro Feed.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Welder

Location: Sagamu, Ogun

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our Maintenance Department and support the continuous operation of our production facilities.
  • The Welder will be responsible for the fabrication, repair, modification, and maintenance of production equipment, machinery, piping, structural components, and other metal works within the factory.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Team to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support the smooth running of manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out welding, fabrication, and repair works on production equipment and factory infrastructure.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on metal components, frames, platforms, tanks, conveyors, piping systems, and machine parts.
  • Fabricate replacement parts and modify existing equipment as required.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct inspections to identify structural defects, wear, and damage requiring repair.
  • Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, including arc welding, gas welding, MIG, and TIG welding equipment where applicable.
  • Support maintenance shutdowns, installations, and equipment upgrade projects.
  • Ensure all welding activities comply with company quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Maintain welding tools, machines, and consumables in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technicians to resolve equipment-related issues.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and completed jobs.
  • Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of SSCE, Trade Test Certificate, Technical Certificate, OND, or equivalent qualification in Welding & Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional welding certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years' relevant welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing, food processing, FMCG, industrial, or engineering environment.
  • Experience in factory maintenance operations is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with welding and fabrication of machinery components, piping systems, and structural metal works.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and repairs independently.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong welding and fabrication skills.
  • Good knowledge of welding safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to use various welding tools and equipment effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet maintenance deadlines.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in an industrial environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidates must reside in and around Sagamu, Ogun State, or be willing to relocate immediately. Proximity to the factory is a critical requirement.
  • Successful candidate must be willing and available to resume on short notice.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or extended hours when required for maintenance activities.

Salary
N200,000 per month.
