Role Overview

  • The Head of Sales (Asset Management) is a sophisticated, high-ticket relationship role responsible for driving the aggressive growth of the firm’s Assets Under Management (AUM).
  • You will lead the strategy to capture institutional funds, build deep trust with premium investors, and position the firm’s investment products as the premier choice for wealth preservation and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • AUM Acceleration: Develop and execute premium sales campaigns to expand the company’s corporate, institutional, and high-net-worth retail investment portfolios.
  • HNWI & Institutional Sourcing: Cultivate, manage, and protect relationships with High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), family offices, corporate treasurers, and institutional fund managers.
  • Product Pitching & Customization: Partner with internal portfolio managers and research teams to pitch mutual funds, fixed-income structures, and bespoke wealth management solutions to sophisticated clients.
  • Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all sales materials, client pitches, and onboarding processes fully comply with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) guidelines.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to drive performance and accountability.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to refine sales strategies.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Net New AUM: The total volume of fresh investment capital successfully brought into the firm on a quarterly basis.
  • Client Retention & Growth: Percentage of premium clients retained and successfully upsold into higher-tier investment portfolios.
  • Institutional Accounts: Number of corporate treasury and institutional fund mandates secured.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. An MBA is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 10–12 years of core sales experience within Asset Management, Investment Banking, or Premium Private Banking, with at least 5 years at a senior/executive management level.
  • Track Record: A verifiable history of personally opening doors and closing multi-million/billion Naira investment mandates from corporate entities or affluent individuals in Nigeria.
  • Credentials: SEC-sponsored individual status is highly preferred. Professional certifications like CFA, CIS, or ACA are a massive advantage.
  • Network: An active, pre-existing network of affluent individuals, corporate treasurers, and institutional fund managers across West Africa who trust your financial leadership.
