Job Title: General Manager (GM)
Location: Lagos

Job Summary
- The General Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall management of the company's operations, business development, project execution, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
- The role oversees all operational activities within the business units, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while driving profitability and business growth.
- The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership experience within the oil & gas industry and renewable energy sector, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects, business development activities, stakeholder engagement, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement business strategies, plans, and objectives aligned with the organization's vision and goals.
- Drive business growth initiatives, market expansion, and revenue generation opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify business opportunities and risks.
- Provide strategic recommendations to executive management and stakeholders.
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations across all departments to ensure efficiency, productivity, and service excellence.
- Establish operational policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure optimal utilization of company resources and assets.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance, profitability, and cost-control measures.
- Review financial reports and ensure achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
- Approve expenditures and ensure financial discipline across the organization.
Business Development & Client Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and contracts.
- Lead contract negotiations and major business engagements.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
People Management:
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to departmental managers and employees.
- Drive employee engagement, performance management, and talent development initiatives.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee workforce planning and organizational development activities.
Compliance, Risk & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.
- Identify operational, financial, and business risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee implementation of corporate governance and internal control processes.
- Ensure compliance with HSE and quality management standards where applicable.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive work experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
- Proven experience within the Oil and gas industry and renewable energy sector, managing multi-functional teams and business operations.
- Experience in business development, strategic planning, and financial management.
