Job Title: Internal Auditor (Manufacturing)

Job Summary

• The Internal Auditor will provide independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of the organization's governance, risk management, and internal control systems.
• Operating within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this role supports operational excellence by evaluating business processes, identifying operational leaks, recommending strategic improvements, and ensuring strict compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
Internal Controls & Risk Management:

• Develop and implement risk-based internal audit plans covering critical manufacturing processes (procurement, production, inventory management, sales, payroll, and finance).
• Assess the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of internal controls across all departments.
• Identify operational, financial, and compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Evaluate risk management processes and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Audit Execution:

• Conduct routine, surprise, and special audits of financial and operational activities across plant and corporate levels.
• Verify the accuracy and reliability of plant records relating to inventory, raw material consumption, production output, scrap rates, rejects, and finished goods.
• Review compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and industry standards, including ISO requirements where applicable.
• Perform thorough audits of procurement activities, vendor management processes, and warehouse inventory controls.

Fraud Prevention & Investigation:

• Investigate suspected fraud, financial irregularities, employee misconduct, and control breaches.
• Gather and analyze forensic evidence, document findings methodically, and prepare comprehensive investigation reports.
• Recommend swift corrective and preventive actions to systematically reduce fraud risks.
• Monitor the implementation of agreed corrective actions and escalate unresolved risks to management.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

• Prepare clear, data-backed, and timely audit reports highlighting observations, risks, root causes, and actionable recommendations.
• Present formal audit findings directly to executive management and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive audit documentation and working papers in accordance with professional global standards.
• Recommend process improvements that enhance manufacturing efficiency, eliminate waste, and optimize costs.

Role Requirements
Education & Experience

• Education: HND or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional Certification: Active professional certification such as CIA, ACA, or ACCA is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of core experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Compliance.
• Industry Background: Previous experience working within a Manufacturing or FMCG environment is highly preferred.
• Audit Scope: Demonstrated experience in conducting operational, financial, compliance, and heavy inventory/factory audits.

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, robust ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.), and specialized audit management software.
• Strong data analytics, data-mining, and professional audit documentation skills.
• Deep knowledge of Internal Audit Standards (IIA), Internal Controls, and Risk Management Frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000).
• Sound understanding of end-to-end manufacturing operations (procurement pipelines, production floors, inventory variance control, and sales dispatch).
• Impeccable report writing, presentation skills, and the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.
