Job Summary
- The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, ironing, folding, sorting, and packaging clothing, linens, and other textile items while ensuring high standards of cleanliness, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- The role requires attention to detail, proper handling of fabrics, and adherence to safety and hygiene procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort laundry according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, ironing equipment, and other laundry machinery safely and efficiently.
- Wash, dry, iron, fold, and package garments and linens according to company standards.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or special cleaning requirements before processing.
- Apply appropriate stain-removal treatments when necessary.
- Ensure all customer items are accurately tagged, tracked, and returned.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area.
- Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Manage laundry supplies and notify supervisors when stock levels are low.
- Assist customers professionally and respond to inquiries when required.
- Meet daily productivity and quality targets.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of a secondary school certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a laundry, dry-cleaning, hotel, or housekeeping environment is an advantage.
- Ability to operate laundry equipment and follow washing instructions.
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
