About the Job
- The Head of Business Development is responsible for driving the bank's core business growth across low-cost deposit mobilization, loan generation, sales of POS and digital banking channels, and developing a high-performing team.
- This role will be instrumental in achieving the bank's overall performance targets and expanding its customer reach and market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the bank's business development strategy and execution to achieve ambitious growth targets for deposits, loans, and digital banking products.
- Spearhead new customer acquisition through effective sales and marketing campaigns, leveraging the bank's POS network and digital channels.
- Manage and develop a team of relationship managers, sales executives, and business development officers to deliver outstanding customer service and meet/exceed sales goals.
- Collaborate closely with other department heads (e.g. Operations, IT, Risk) to ensure seamless delivery of the bank's products and services.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to deposit mobilization, loan generation, digital channel adoption, and team productivity.
- Provide mentorship and career development support to the business development team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree (MBA) preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management in the banking/financial services industry.
- Should be a Microfinance Certified Practitioner
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, achieving ambitious targets, and building high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of Microfinance operations, deposit mobilization strategies, and digital banking products.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively engage with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the banking sector.
