Job Summary

• We are seeking an innovative and experienced Technical Design Manager to lead the design and development of automotive products and systems.
• The successful candidate will oversee the technical design team, manage vehicle and component design projects, and ensure that all designs meet performance, safety, quality, cost, and regulatory requirements.
• This role requires strong engineering expertise, project management skills, and a passion for automotive innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of vehicle systems, components, and assemblies.
• Manage the technical design team and coordinate design activities across multiple projects.
• Develop design concepts, specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and company requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, quality, procurement, and research teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, prototypes, and product modifications.
• Oversee computer-aided design (CAD) activities and engineering simulations.
• Manage product development timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis to improve product performance and reliability.
• Support prototype development, testing, validation, and production launch activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in vehicle design and engineering processes.
• Stay updated on emerging automotive technologies, materials, and industry trends.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's Degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive design, product development, or engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar design tools.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle design principles, manufacturing processes, and automotive regulations.
• Experience in project management and cross-functional team leadership.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Professional engineering certification is an added advantage.
