Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Engineering Department Manager to lead and oversee all engineering activities within our automobile manufacturing operations.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the company's production and quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of the Engineering Department.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve production efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Manage engineering projects, including equipment installation, plant upgrades, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, procurement, and other departments to achieve organizational goals.
- Monitor engineering budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines.
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports for senior management.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address equipment failures and process inefficiencies.
- Drive innovation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
- Develop and mentor engineering personnel, ensuring continuous professional growth and high team performance.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing methods.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
- Must have 7–10 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of automobile manufacturing processes, production systems, and industrial equipment.
- Proven leadership, project management, and team management experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in engineering software, maintenance management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Membership of a recognized professional engineering body is an added advantage.
