Job Purpose / Mission
- The Marketing Manager leads the development and execution of grassroots and field-driven marketing initiatives that drive customer acquisition, retention, and brand visibility across Nigeria.
- The role manages the team accros the region and spends significant time in the field to understand customer behaviour, support regional execution, and ensure campaigns resonate with our B2C market.
- This position enables commercial success by designing and implementing marketing strategies and promotions that strengthen Sales performance, and enhance Customer Experience outcomes.
- The role collaborates closely with Sales teams to ensure marketing activities effectively support organisational goals and market growth.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute high-impact marketing strategies, campaigns, and promotions that drive sales, strengthen customer engagement, and improve product and brand awareness.
- Ensure initiatives reflect deep knowledge of B2C markets and resonate with customers across diverse regions in Nigeria.
- Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and recommend improvements to maximize ROI and accelerate growth.
Commercial Alignment & Business Support:
- Partner closely with Sales, Credit, and Customer Experience teams to design marketing initiatives that directly support commercial priorities, customer acquisition, repayment behaviour, and customer retention.
- Provide targeted campaign support for Credit within priority regions and aid CX-led initiatives to improve customer experience when required.
Lead Generation & Market Activation:
- Oversee the full lead generation ecosystem (online and offline), ensuring high-quality, high-conversion leads reach field teams.
- Strengthen processes, messaging, and tools that support lead quality, follow-up discipline, and field conversion efficiency.
Brand Management & Messaging Cohesion:
- Own and champion consistent brand messaging, positioning, and key value propositions across field teams, ensuring total alignment with the company’s mission and customer promise.
- Build and protect brand equity across all markets and customer touchpoints.
Customer Segmentation & Value Proposition Development:
- Define and refine customer segments, needs, and motivations.
- Translate product and service offerings into clear, relatable value propositions that drive adoption and build loyalty.
Events, Visibility & Communications:
- Plan and execute national and regional event strategies that raise the organization’s visibility, strengthen partnerships, and support commercial objectives.
- Manage national and international communications, including media relations, PR campaigns, engagement, and thought-leadership content.
Collaboration on Physical Brand Experience (Service Centers & Offices):
- In collaboration with the Customer Experience team, ensure service centers present a strong, consistent brand identity and customer-friendly environment.
- Partner with the team to maintain brand-aligned office environments across all locations, ensuring visual consistency and a positive internal experience.
Budget & Vendor Management:
- Develop and manage the marketing budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources and strong ROI.
- Oversee relationships with marketing agencies, designers, media partners, printers, and other suppliers to ensure cost-efficiency, quality, brand consistency, and compliance with standards.
Research, Insights & Data-Driven Marketing:
- Use customer insights, regional trends, campaign data, and competitor intelligence to shape strategy, refine messaging, and guide future marketing investments.
- Develop frameworks for disseminating insights to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; MBA is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience, including leading a marketing team.
- Proven experience developing and executing strategic marketing plans within a high-growth B2C organization (technology or similar).
- Demonstrated success in field and below-the-line (BTL) marketing, product launches, brand management, and corporate communications.
- Experience leveraging customer analytics, segmentation, and insights to drive campaign performance and business growth.
