Job Title: Procurement Officer

Job Summary

  • The Procurement Officer plays a pivotal role in managing procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and quality acquisition of equipment and materials.
  • The role requires managing supplier relationships and coordinating import processes while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • This position operates in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong negotiation, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and review procurement policies and strategies to ensure transparency, fairness, and compliance.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage import and shipping processes, liaising with regulatory authorities (NAFDAC, SON, CUSTOMS) and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms to optimize costs and ensure quality standards.
  • Identify and onboard alternative suppliers to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor procurement budgets, track savings initiatives, and report on financial and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop creative procurement solutions aligned with project requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze landed cost estimates, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and company regulations related to procurement and supply chain activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement with exposure to import processes in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Experience in building services industry will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
