Job Title: Auto-Electrician

About the Role

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Electrician to join our mining operations team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical systems and components on light vehiclesto ensure optimal performance and operational efficiency.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong troubleshooting skills, a safety-first mindset, and experience working with automotive electrical systems in demanding industrial or mining environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults on light vehicles.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, and control systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.
• Repair and replace faulty switches, relays, lighting systems, gauges, and electronic control units.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve electrical and electronic faults.
• Interpret electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with mechanics and maintenance personnel to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
• Report recurring faults and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment performance.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of OND, Trade Test, or Technical Certificate in Auto Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant Auto Electrician certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2–4years' practical experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably within the mining, construction, transport, or heavy equipment industry.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, electronic diagnostics, and fault-finding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Good understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote site environment.
