Job Title: Assistant Chef (Chinese Cuisine)

Location: Ngaski LGA, Kebbi
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

• We are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Assistant Chef with experience in Chinese cuisine to support the preparation and delivery of quality meals within our mining camp operations.
• The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the timely preparation of meals, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and contribute to an excellent dining experience forexpatriateemployees.
• This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for culinary excellence, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of Chinese andcontinentaldishes.
• Support the Head Chef in menu preparation, food presentation, and kitchen operations.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, stocks, and other food items required for daily meal production.
• Ensure food is prepared in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and hygiene requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Assist in monitoring food inventory and reporting stock shortages.
• Support the proper storage and handling of food items to prevent spoilage and contamination.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and occupational health standards.
• Assist in serving meals and ensuring customer satisfaction where required.
• Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Camp Management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum of SSCE, OND, or a relevant culinary qualification.
• Minimum of 1–3 years' experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
• Practical experience assisting in the preparation of Chinese cuisine is required.
• Experience in hotels, restaurants, catering services, industrial kitchens, or camp operations is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
• Ability to work long hours when operationally required.
• Physically fit and able to work in a remote mining site environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Candidates with previous experience supporting Chinese chefs, working in mining camps, industrial catering facilities, hotels, or expatriate-serving environments will have an added advantage.
