L&Z Integrated Farms Nigeria Limited, incorporated in Nigeria on November 11, 2008, is located in Kano State, as an integrated dairy producer and processor that produce variant of Yoghurts, Fresh milk, Fura Da Nono, Greek Yoghurts, Satchet Yoghurt and Ice cream.

L&Z has established a strong brand in the Nigerian dairy sector, standing out as an indigenous player with good quality dairy products and significant local presence across all six (6) geopolitical zones in Nigeria. The Farm owns a large herd of cows (a cross-breed of Frisian and local cows – Sokoto Gudali), which produces an average yield of 7- 8 litres per cow/day in contrast to 0.69 litres per cow/day from the indigenous breed. Similarly, the Company is an indigenous market leader in the production and processing of drinking yoghurt and sources 90% of its raw milk from local pastoralists across the milk collection centres strategically located in Kano State.

Job Title: Sensory Evaluation Officer

Location: Kano

Job Description

  • Examine and analyze all incoming raw materials to ensure conformance to approved specifications and verify appropriate labeling upon receipt.
  • Conduct routine quality checks and laboratory analysis on raw materials and inventory stocks to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Inspect packaging materials for defects and verify the accuracy and completeness of supplied information and specifications.
  • Conduct sensory evaluation and organoleptic assessment of products to identify and differentiate variations in taste, texture, aroma, appearance, and overall product quality.
  • Analyze in-process samples and finished products for required quality control parameters.
  • Monitor yogurt manufacturing processes, including mix preparation, pasteurization, homogenization, fermentation, incubation, cooling, and filling operations to ensure product consistency and compliance with standards.
  • Operate laboratory equipment efficiently and perform routine calibration, verification, and maintenance as required.
  • Inspect and ensure that finished products meet predetermined quality specifications and food safety requirements.
  • Train and manage sensory evaluation panels to ensure consistent, unbiased, and objective product scoring.
  • Analyze sensory and physical data to identify the root cause of defects or batch variations. Collaborate with the Research & Development (R&D) and Production teams to refine recipes and formulations.
  • Investigate customer complaints, product deviations, and non-conformance issues, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Prepare quality reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, laboratory analyses, product evaluations, and quality status.
  • Implement scheduled quality testing activities in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect production and storage facilities to ensure high levels of hygiene, sanitation, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with internal quality systems, HACCP requirements, GMP standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Support internal and external audits conducted by regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and customers.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality and food safety issues identified during operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor’s Degree with 2 - 4 years experience.
