We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Technical Officer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

  • The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) will provide visionary strategic and operational leadership across all technical functions of the company.
  • This role is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency of the company’s critical infrastructure, power systems, and renewable energy assets. The CTO will drive technical excellence, innovation, and operational efficiency while playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Strategy & Leadership:

  • Define and implement the company’s long-term technical vision and roadmap across infrastructure, power systems, and energy solutions.
  • Align technical operations with overall business objectives and aggressive growth plans.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to the Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team.

Operations Oversight:
Oversee end-to-end technical operations, including:

  • Passive infrastructure (sites, towers, civil works)
  • Active systems (power, electrical, telecom/network equipment)
  • Grid connectivity and performance
  • Solar and hybrid energy solutions
  • Ensure high availability, uptime, and reliability of all systems. Ensure high availability, system uptime, and reliability of all technical assets.s

Maintenance & Asset Management:

  • Establish and enforce preventive and corrective maintenance frameworks
  • Implement effective asset lifecycle management and performance monitoring systems
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and asset reliability.

Project Execution (Grid & Solar):

  • Lead the planning and successful execution of major technical projects, including grid expansion/optimisation and solar/renewable energy deployments.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards

Team Leadership:

  • Provide leadership and direction to multiple technical departments and teams
  • Build strong middle management across maintenance, operations, and projects
  • Drive accountability, performance management, and continuous improvement

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage relationships with OEMs, contractors, EPCs, and service providers
  • Negotiate and monitor SLAs and performance standards
  • Liaise with regulators and ensure compliance with all technical and safety requirements

Financial & Performance Management:

  • Oversee technical budgets (CAPEX and OPEX)
  • Drive cost optimisation initiatives, particularly in energy and maintenance
  • Provide regular reports to executive management on performance, risks, and opportunities

Risk, Compliance & HSE:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, engineering, and HSE standards
  • Identify and mitigate operational and technical risks
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all technical operations

HSE KPI

  • Report any hazards, injuries or ill health to the Supervisor or HSE Officer within 24hours of occurrence
  • 100% attendance in all the company’s occupational health and safety programs
  • Daily report of unsafe acts and conditions
  • Daily adherence to safe work procedures.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12–18 years’ experience in technical operations, infrastructure, or the power/energy sector
  • At least 5–8 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple technical teams

Strong experience in:

  • Power systems/grid operations, Solar or renewable energy projects
  • Infrastructure maintenance (active & passive)
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-location operations.
