About the Role
- A fast-growing Agro-Allied Company isseeking a detail-oriented Finance & Cost Control Officer to support project financial management, budgeting, and cost monitoring across construction, agribusiness, and operational projects.
- The role ensures accurate tracking of project costs, financial discipline, and effective budget control to support profitability and efficient resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities
Project Finance & Budgeting:
- Prepare and monitor project budgets across operational and capital expenditure lines
- Support development of financial forecasts and cash flow projections
- Track actual spend against approved budgets and highlight variances
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and project financial reports
Cost Control & Analysis:
- Implement cost control systems across projects and departments
- Monitor construction, agricultural, and operational costs for efficiency and accuracy
- Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions
- Support cost optimization initiatives across business units
Accounting & Financial Systems:
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting systems (QuickBooks/Zoho or similar)
- Ensure proper documentation and coding of all project-related expenditures
- Support invoice verification, payment processing, and cost allocation
- Assist in reconciliation of accounts and financial data validation
Project & Operational Support:
- Work closely with project teams to ensure cost compliance and budget adherence
- Review procurement and expenditure requests for budget alignment
- Support financial input for contractor payments and project evaluations
- Ensure financial documentation readiness for audits and donor/investor reviews
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, cost control, or project accounting
- Experience in construction, agribusiness, infrastructure, or project-based environments preferred
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level required)
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar)
- Strong budgeting, cost tracking, and financial analysis skills
- Understanding of project costing and variance analysis
Soft Skills:
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and field operations
- Strong reporting and communication skills.
