Job Title: Truck Mechanic

Role Overview
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and related equipment to ensure maximum fleet availability, reliability, and safety.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong troubleshooting abilities, extensive hands-on experience with diesel engines and truck systems, and a commitment to delivering high-quality maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults on heavy-duty trucks.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on trucks and fleet equipment.
- Inspect vehicles and identify potential mechanical issues before they result in breakdowns.
- Repair and overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, braking systems, steering systems, and other truck components.
- Conduct routine servicing, oil changes, and maintenance checks.
- Respond promptly to truck breakdowns and emergency repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Recommend replacement of worn or damaged parts when necessary.
- Support fleet reliability and minimize vehicle downtime.
Requirements
- 5–10 years' proven experience as a Truck Mechanic, preferably in logistics, transportation, oil & gas, or fleet operations.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical faults independently.
- Experience working on brands such as HOWO, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Scania, Mack, Sinotruk, or similar heavy-duty trucks is an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic reports.
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance planning and execution.
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding operational environments.
Qualifications:
- Trade Test Certificate, WAEC/OND/HND, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field.
- Relevant vocational or technical certifications will be an added advantage.
