Job Title: Coding / Computer Science Teacher (Middle & High School)

Position Overview

  • The successful candidate will inspire students to become creative problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and responsible digital citizens.
  • The teacher will deliver engaging lessons in coding, computer science, computational thinking, and digital literacy while integrating biblical values into learning experiences.
  • This role is ideal for an educator who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys working with young people, and is committed to excellence in Christian education.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Coding and Computer Science lessons for Middle and High School students.
  • Teach programming concepts using age-appropriate languages and platforms such as Python, Scratch, JavaScript, web development tools, and related technologies.
  • Develop students' computational thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills.
  • Design project-based learning experiences that encourage creativity and innovation.
  • Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative methods.
  • Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate academic records.

Student Development:

  • Create a positive classroom culture that promotes curiosity, collaboration, responsibility, and excellence.
  • Support students with varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Encourage participation in coding competitions, STEM projects, robotics activities, and technology-related initiatives.
  • Promote responsible and ethical use of technology.

Christian Worldview Integration:

  • Model Christian character and uphold the school's mission and values.
  • Integrate biblical principles into teaching where appropriate, particularly in discussions related to ethics, stewardship, innovation, and digital citizenship.
  • Support the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of students.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
  • Meet deadlines for lesson planning, grading, reports, and communication.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of the school's technology and STEM programs.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience or relevant experience working with young people in a technology-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of coding and computer science concepts.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preferred:

  • Teaching certification or education qualification.
  • Experience teaching Python, JavaScript, web development, robotics, or related STEM subjects.
  • Experience in an international or multicultural school environment.
  • Familiarity with biblical integration and Christian education.
  • Knowledge of educational technology tools and learning management systems.
