We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Facility Manager
Location: Damaturu, Yobe
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of all facility operations and maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for building systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure the efficient operation of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building services.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
- Manage maintenance schedules and monitor service delivery standards.
Vendor & Contractor Management:
- Supervise and evaluate contractors, vendors, and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Review and approve contractor work and maintenance reports.
- Negotiate service agreements and monitor vendor performance.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor workplace safety procedures and emergency response plans.
- Conduct routine risk assessments and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain statutory records and ensure timely renewals of permits and certifications.
Budget & Asset Management:
- Prepare and manage facility maintenance budgets.
- Monitor operational expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of facility assets and equipment.
- Develop asset replacement and lifecycle management plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Estate Management, Facility Management, Building Technology, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications in Facility Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Facilities Manager or in a similar facility management role.
- Proven experience managing commercial, residential, institutional, or industrial facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance teams, contractors, and facility budgets.
- Experience working in remote or challenging operational environments will be an advantage.
