We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Facility Manager

Location: Damaturu, Yobe

Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of all facility operations and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for building systems and infrastructure.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building services.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Manage maintenance schedules and monitor service delivery standards.

Vendor & Contractor Management:

  • Supervise and evaluate contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
  • Review and approve contractor work and maintenance reports.
  • Negotiate service agreements and monitor vendor performance.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and monitor workplace safety procedures and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct routine risk assessments and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Maintain statutory records and ensure timely renewals of permits and certifications.

Budget & Asset Management:

  • Prepare and manage facility maintenance budgets.
  • Monitor operational expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of facility assets and equipment.
  • Develop asset replacement and lifecycle management plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Estate Management, Facility Management, Building Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certifications in Facility Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Facilities Manager or in a similar facility management role.
  • Proven experience managing commercial, residential, institutional, or industrial facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance teams, contractors, and facility budgets.
  • Experience working in remote or challenging operational environments will be an advantage.
