Job Title: Accountant

Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our client's fast-growing fintech startup.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring transactions, and supporting strategic financial decision-making in a dynamic technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping activities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions
  • Monitor cash flow and budgeting processes
  • Support payroll administration and tax compliance
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
  • Assist with audits and statutory reporting
  • Prepare financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Collaborate with operations and management teams to improve financial efficiency
  • Monitor fintech transactions and identify discrepancies or risks

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN or equivalent) is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 2–3years’ accounting experience (startup or fintech experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with fintech/payment systems
  • Knowledge of financial controls and digital transactions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

 Salary
N200,000 - N400,000 per month.
