Job Title: State Coordinator

Location: Nasarawa

Job Description

• The State Coordinator will lead Extension Africa's operations in Nasarawa State, driving the building and activation of a functional rural stakeholder network.
• This is a field-intensive, performance-driven role that combines operational leadership with stakeholder coordination, digital extension deployment, and revenue generation.
• The role sits at the intersection of agricultural development and market systems, making it ideal for a candidate who thrives in dynamic field environments and can deliver measurable results at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, and activate Farmer Business Associates (FBAs) and other rural actors across operational clusters
• Establish community-level structures to support last-mile input distribution, aggregation, and advisory delivery
• Lead the rollout of Extension Africa's AI-enabled Extension Advisory System (IrokoAI) across the state
• Coordinate Training of Trainers (ToTs), farmer trainings, and continuous field coaching sessions
• Identify and onboard vendors including input suppliers, mechanization providers, and financial service providers
• Build and maintain relationships with ADPs, government agencies, and development partners
• Drive revenue generation through partnerships, service delivery, and rural marketplace activities
• Ensure accurate and timely data collection across all field activities and provide regular reports to the RED Coordinator
• Oversee day-to-day field operations including scheduling, logistics, and team deployment

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, or a related field
• Proven experience in field operations and rural stakeholder engagement, preferably within a private sector or market-driven agricultural model
• Strong understanding of smallholder farmer systems and rural market dynamics
• Experience with digital extension tools or technology-enabled agricultural programs is an advantage
• Demonstrated ability to manage field teams and drive performance against targets
• Strong communication, reporting, and relationship management skills
• Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and close partnership opportunities
• Willingness to travel frequently across LGAs and rural communities within Nasarawa State
