We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Backend Engineer

Location: Ilupeju, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our delivery and fulfillment platform.
• The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Golang and/or C# development, a deep understanding of distributed systems, and a passion for building high-performance and scalable backend solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs to support our delivery and fulfillment platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement scalable and efficient solutions.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the design and improvement of backend systems.
• Implement and optimize database schemas and queries for optimal performance.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of backend services.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to integrate backend functionality into end-to-end solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in backenddevelopment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in backend development with a focus on Golang or C#.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs and gRPC.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficient in database design and optimization, including SQL and NoSQL databases (MSSQL/MongoDB).
• Solid understanding of software development best practices, including testing and version control.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality and scalable backend solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Familiarity with in-memory storage solutions such as Redis.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures.
• Previous experience in the delivery and logistics industry.
• Familiarity with APM and Observability tools.

Expected Salary
Competitive, based on experience.
