We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounting Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Account Officer will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting in daily accounting operations within the oil and gas business.
• The role is ideal for a detail-oriented graduate with basic accounting knowledge and willingness to learn industry-specific financial practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records and reports
• Record daily financial transactions and ensure proper documentation
• Support accounts payable and receivable processing
• Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts
• Assist in invoice generation, verification, and filing
• Help track expenses related to operations, logistics, and procurement
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures
• Assist in preparing audit schedules and responding to audit queries
• Maintain proper filing system (digital and physical) for financial documents
• Liaise with vendors and internal departments on payment-related matters

Required Skills & Competencies

• Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS knowledge is an advantage)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good numerical and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (typical in oil & gas operations)
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Salary
N120,000 - N140,000 monthly
