Job Title: Cost Account Officer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Description

• The Cost Account Officer will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling production and operational costs to ensure efficient resource utilization and profitability. The role involves preparing cost reports, monitoring inventory, and supporting management in making informed financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain cost accounting records and reports.
• Determine and analyze production costs, including materials, labor, and overheads.
• Monitor inventory usage and stock valuation
• Conduct cost variance analysis and report findings.
• Assist in preparing budgets and cost forecasts.
• Monitor operational expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Track production costs for printing, binding, packaging, and distribution activities.
• Reconcile inventory and production records.
• Support monthly and annual financial closing activities.
• Ensure accurate costing of products and services.
• Assist with audit exercises and statutory compliance requirements.
• Prepare management reports on cost performance and profitability.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification or active enrollment towards completion will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Must have 2–4 years' experience in Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting, or a related role.
• Experience in manufacturing, printing, publishing, or production environments is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and reporting skills.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 / Month.
