Job Title: Buyer Development / Market Intelligence Officer
Location: Oyo
Role Summary
- We are seeking a field-driven and commercially aware Buyer Development / Market Intelligence Officer to identify, verify, and engage serious buyers across Oyo State and the wider Southwest region.
- This role involves sourcing and qualifying buyers such as wholesalers, distributors, aggregators, food commodity traders, and institutional buyers, while gathering key market intelligence to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and verify credible buyers across Oyo and Southwest Nigeria
- Conduct field visits to markets, wholesalers, distributors, and institutional buyers
- Gather and analyze buyer data including pricing, volume, preferences, and location
- Engage buyers through calls and in-person interactions
- Validate demand, pricing trends, and buyer credibility
- Prepare weekly reports using Excel or Google Sheets
- Recommend high-potential buyer opportunities for follow-up
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to operate within Oyo/Ibadan/Southwest Nigeria
- Candidate must have experience in FMCG field sales or route-to-market sales
- Comfortable with extensive fieldwork and market visits
- Strong communication skills to engage buyers and traders directly
- High level of integrity, organization, and commercial awareness
- Ability to submit clear and structured reports
- Basic proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
